ENGLISH LANGUAGE CHALLENGES

My experience with English has been complicated, because the field is difficult for me to understand since at school I had a bad teaching in this subject and my teachers did not have a good vocation to teach, which made the learning process more complicated.

In the university it is difficult to learn English because I have many subjects, therefore there is little time to study the subject, the schedule does not favor learning, because it is too late and ends up limiting our university activities, however the methodology of Teaching is good and English teachers have a good vocation to do the subject and are interested in teaching their knowledge.

the use of blogs has allowed me to learn new words and improve my writing, I still have much to improve but I notice changes from the beginning of English level one and now that I am in level four.

I believe that learning English is very important especially because I intend to travel a lot in the future, after finishing my degree I would like to take English workshops to be able to speak more fluently and communicate without problems with another person in this language.

I use the language very little outside the university because I do not have the confidence to speak this language with other people, but I would like to improve this in some future.

during the race I would have liked to have the possibility of choosing other languages, I think that the subject of English should be optional, so that one as a student can choose their own knowledge, depending on their interests.

CHANGES TO MY STUDY PROGRAMME

The faculty of visual arts has many tools of work but several of them are in poor condition, as these tools are used to begin to break down therefore makes learning at the university is slow.

the infrastructure, besides being precarious, also has work tools that do not allow the works to be carried out with a good resolution.In the workshops that we have in the university we do not have enough security measures to protect us from any type of risk with a toxic material therefore it does not have the minimum conditions to protect our well-being. There is no good ventilation and the tools they are damaged so they are dangerous for students.

I feel that it is necessary to change the mesh of subjects because it is not the correct one, it does not guide the student to generate an investigation that allows to realize their concerns and projects.

teachers should enter by competition, to have good teachers because teachers who are teaching does not have a good vocation, therefore the learning of some disciplines is precarious, as in ceramics and painting.

I would like to change the infrastructure of the university, also have tools in good condition, to be in a space with basic working conditions.

I would also like the university to provide tools to face the work area, after completing the visual arts career most students once graduated are not prepared to find a job.

 

PERSONAL OPINIONS

What is your opinion about recycling?
Recycling seems to me to be a very important issue at present and that we are faced with a very serious problem like the pollution of our planet.

In Chile, more than 10 million garbage are produced monthly, deposited in more than 50 thousand legal and clandestine garbage dumps, which directly affect our quality of life, because our natural resources are used disproportionately, as raw materials that we then discard and we throw them turning them into useless materials and foci of infection.






Recycling helps us to reduce the waste we discard, so instead of generating more trash, we can use it to generate something that is of our use.I think the best motivation for recycling begins personally.

Recycling seems to me to be a very important issue at present and that we are faced with a very serious problem like the pollution of our planet.

If we all collaborate, it will be an easier way to carry out this activity, besides recycling can help us a bit economically since we have deposits where aluminum plastics (cans), cardboard and others are bought. Some organizations buy materials for recycling, in this term not only helps the environment as it also helps generations that will come many years ahead if not economically.


What is your opinion about the Chilean tradition called ‘mechoneo’?

Many are in favor of considering it a fun activity and where they know and share with colleagues and friends they will have during the next years of University. Others consider it a humiliating rite, where there is no respect and only seeks to abuse others.

I think it stops being fun when the "victim mechon" is suffering or is very afraid. So I'm against it, I do not think it's an activity that everyone enjoys. I find that painting, scratching or breaking people's clothing seems to me a prehistoric attitude.

What is your opinion about owning an exotic pet?

Although it seems innocent, the truth is that buying and selling exotic animals is a form of animal abuse. The above, since life, respect and integrity, are conditions that any living being should have insured. Exotic animals are forcibly removed from their natural habitat, transported in terrible conditions to other countries, do not receive veterinary attention, proper nutrition or even basic hygiene conditions. This practice transgresses all the rights of a sentient being.

MUSIC

My favorite genre is the experimental sound about 5 years ago that I listen to this style of music, which is a kind of melody in which existing notions of music are expanded. In experimental music, we start from ideas and forms that are still developing in the musical field and we actively experiment to find new stimuli.

 I find experimentation with non-conventional sounds interesting, because often in this style of music, non-conventional instruments are usually created, which allows us to always listen to new things and unique melodies.

Among my favorite artists of this genre is Juana Molina and bjork this time. I will talk about Juana Molina, singer and actress, daughter of the tango singer Horacio Molina and the actress Chunchuna Villafañe. She is world famous for her distinctive sound, which is generally considered folk, as well as for interpreting genres such as ambient, experimental, neofolk, indietronica, psychedelic and indie.

I really like the music of Juana Molina because it has particular and unusual sounds. My favorite album is "Halo", it is the seventh studio album of the singer and composer, which has 12 songs in which hypnotic rhythms abound. taken from immemorial rituals, with tonal explorations and changing soundscapes.

My favorite video of this artist is Paraguaya in which she shows her usual approach to the visual in the hand of the oneiric.

                         

POSTGRADUATE STUDIES

I am studying a degree in visual arts at the University of Chile, after finishing my degree I would like to travel to Italy or Spain to enter ceramic sculpture workshops and learn more about the subject and be able to sculpt sculptures larger than currently I find myself performing. I would like to learn about the history of ceramics in Europe and learn about the four major groups of ceramics such as glazed pottery tin and fine porcelain that were developed in Italy.

 I would apply for internships in museums that exhibit ceramic sculptures to learn about their conservation or maintenance.

Another of the interests I have is to study taxidermy in the Museum of Natural History of Chile, I have always been interested in natural sciences and much more because I find this discipline interesting to dissect animals to keep them alive and thus facilitate their exposure , study and conservation.

I have also thought about joining a magister or diploma in heritage conservation, I find it interesting to learn to encourage the permanence of those cultural and artistic manifestations, protect them and rescue them responsibly so that, they are transmitted to future generations to ensure their current use and respect its historical, artistic or social significance.

The options I have planned to study would allow me to expand my field of work and increase my knowledge about what I like to practice and take my knowledge to other areas or disciplines.

MY FUTURE JOB

I am a fourth year student of visual arts at the University of Chile, in the future I would like to work independently doing sculpture workshops in ceramics, because I specialize in this discipline and I find the exchange of knowledge very interesting, I would also like to have a ceramic shop that sells a wide variety of products.

I am currently working in a virtual store on Instagram called @biophilia.estudio where I sell design products inspired by nature, including ceramic pots and utilitarian objects. lately I'm working on commissioned sculptures, creating and offering custom objects for clients.once graduated from the career I would like to focus more on this brand of products that I am creating and postulate my sculptures to different design stores in the country,I find it interesting to have a line of artistic works and also a line of design works because that way I can get the most out of what I have learned in the University.also studying visual arts leads you to look for other means to earn money because the career has little work field in the country.

                                                                              

                                                                               
                                         

I would like to work in Santiago or in the city of Viña del Mar because they are places where the product I sell sells more quickly.

I would like to continue working in my line of artistic work doing research and working for biennials and scholarships of residence, to learn ceramics in other parts of the world and to be able to increase my knowledge and be able to have a higher income than what I want to teach.

FAVOURITE FOOD

My favorite food is sushi, which is a dish of Japanese origin based on rice and fish that is usually accompanied with: sesame, depending on the tastes it can be raw or smoked, marinated with rice vinegar, sugar, salt and other ingredients , like vegetables, fish or seafood. This dish is one of the most recognized of Japanese cuisine and one of the most popular internationally.

love raw salmon. Since I was little, my family went to Japanese restaurants to eat sushi. Also when we did not have time, my mother bought it to take home. Other families eat pizza or Chinese food when they are together, but my family likes sushi.

As This food very often, twice a week, my  favorite type is a roll of salmon with avocado. It's like an ice cream cone but with seaweed, rice and fish. The avocado is creamy and mixes well with the salmon. Also, I like tuna, squid and crab. I do not like crab sticks. It is a type of fish, Pollock, that is ground and processed to look like crab. For me, the taste is completely different.

Preparing sushi is an art and it takes decades to become a true master of sushi: you can spend years learning just how to make good rice, so I always prefer to eat in restaurants or order at home.

In conclusion I like sushi because it is a healthy food to your body and I do not feel that it is a flavor that you get tired of, apart from that I have good experiences with my family since I have had good experiences while I share this dish with my relatives or dearest people. so I invite you to try this delicious dish.
